God has given us a special tool for only human. It could be nicely used to save people, or the other way. Even though most people do use them in daily life, none of people know how to use it properly in God's way. Yes, it is "words". Animals can communicate with their signals and sounds but human has language to communicate each other. However, I think that this tool can be the most dangerous to use without any conscious. That is why it is so dangerous. Lately, I have had chances to observe several people nearby how they speak, and chose words to express their thoughts and feelings. Interestingly enough, the words have been causes of hurting or loving chain reactions. Even though we know so well that we need to be careful what we say, it is very hard to control our mouth without our effort and disciplines . If we see how Jesus used His words to people, we could see how powerful it was. When Jesus cursed the fig tree, it dried up right away. It happened exactly to me once ...
I love to drink hot drinks: coffee, tea, apple cider, hot coco, and so on. I love smell of coffee at coffee shops. Somehow it gives me some fuggy feeling and warmth memory of Christmas. When I was a full time doctoral student, I had to drink several cups of coffee to be awake without much sleep. I can confess that I spent a large amount of money in coffee. So, like a habit, I used to stop by to get a cup of coffee, especially with my dear friends after lunch. Gracefully, my friend treated me often for the coffee. Since I have ...
It seems weird to think about some one's birthday who already passed away. Today is my dad's birthday. I still want to celebrate his birthday though even though he does not exist on earth anymore. He was born as a first son but third child at his family, was always in the first place in his classes according to my grandma throughout his school years. He did not like to fight or do stuff which common boys like to do. So, they teased him a lot. He was into writing, reading, or listening to others' lives. He wanted to study more but my grandfather wanted him to inherit his business. He took off to Seoul to study in Seoul National university in master's degree but his parents did not support him at all and were mad at him completely. He got a national scholarship to study abroad, came to University of Minnesota in 1962. He finished his master's degree and ...
